It’s not about figuring out where you’d like to end up – it’s about deciding where you must go.

Lukewarm dreams freeze to death unless you light the fire of desire under them.

You can’t reach great successes without exposing yourself to spectacular failure.

You can’t feel amazing without exposing yourself to a downfall.

You can’t feel great love without exposing yourself to a broken heart.

You can’t explore the world without exposing yourself to getting lost.

And what’s more: you won’t be able to fully appreciate the good things in life without having been exposed to the challenging things.

Flawed. Perfect. Inspired. Spiritless. Excited. Defeated. Exhilirated. Gloomy.

Maybe the key is to accept all states when they come and when they go.

What you used to have was okay – and probably enough.

What you have today is okay – and probably enough.

What you’ll have tomorrow will be okay – and probably enough.

You can believe you didn’t always have everything you needed – but don’t be a prisoner of your past.

You can always believe you deserve more – but don’t be a prisoner of your dreams.

You’ll struggle with hardship, until you get used to it.

You revel in good fortune, until you get used to it.

Habituation is how we make it through the hard times.

And habituation is how we stay ambitious when we go through prosperous times.

Back to the baseline we always go.

“Because that’s the way I always did it”. “Because that’s how I was raised.” “Because that’s just who I am.”

“Because that’s the way I intend to do it.” “Because that’s how I believe I should act.” “Because that’s just who I choose to become.”

Without bringing intention to your life, you won’t live the way you want but the way you started.

Writing is hard – but I’d love to be a writer, so I write.

Painting is hard – and I wouldn’t love being a painter, so I don’t paint.

Some things are worth the struggle and sacrifice for me – and maybe not for you.

Some things are worth the struggle and sacrifice for you – and maybe not for me.

It’s fine to give up on something you started.

It’s a pity to not even start because you’re scared you’ll give up.

Don’t let the fear of giving up stop you from getting started.

And don’t let the fear of failing stop you from getting started either.

Finding the right path for you often means first taking the wrong turns.

Just like learning what works usually means first learning what doesn’t work.

Because gaining experience is learning to discern and distinguish between what works and what doesn’t.

And the best way to learn to discern right and wrong is by doing things right and wrong.

There’s wisdom in wrong turns.

Get ill. Get better.

Just don’t stand still.

Break. Then grow.

Do whatever it takes to stay in flow.
