    #116 Pursue or reconsider?

What would you still do even if nobody else would ever see or hear it?

What do you secretly love but you don’t WANT anyone else to see or hear – out of fear of being judged?

Both are good indicators of a passion – or an addiction.

If it’s a passion, and it’s good for you (aligned with your values and goals and fulfilling): pursue.

If it’s an addiction, and it’s bad for you: reconsider.

#287 Why it’s not so hard to be a writer today

You don’t have to believe yet you can write, meditate, do yoga every day.

But nothing stops you from acting as if you already can.

After all, what would your day look like if you were already able to write every day?

That’s right. Not so different, apart from the fact that you would write. Today.

So if you decide to write today, even if it’s just one sentence, you’re acting in the exact same way as a person who already knows they can write every day.

And if you act the same way… you’re becoming that person**.**

That’s a lot of words to say… it’s not so hard to be a writer today.

    #194 Satisfaction is an illusion

We get hungry and look for food. Then we get hungry again.

We get thirsty and look for water. Then we’re thirsty again.

We want to create art and learn how to sing. Then we want to create more and learn how to draw.

Full satisfaction with our life as it is is an illusion. Desire will always be there, even if we think we’ve reached all our goals.

Without a gap between what we do and what we want to do, what we have and what we want, who we are and who we want to be, life becomes meaningless.

With that knowledge, how can we still be fulfilled?

    The fulfillment formula may help:

Regardless of outcomes and results, are the majority of your daily actions in alignment with your purpose, values, and the identity you want to forge?

  • #390 Make the daily practice easy

The trick to successful habit-building: make daily practice easy.

We often do the opposite: we make weekly practice hard.

If I tell myself I’m going to post one long blog post every week, I’ll find a million reasons not to write for the first six days until I have no choice but to write.

But if I tell myself I will post daily, the longest I can procrastinate is… 12 hours?

And after a week, I’ve practiced my publishing habit 7 times.

So it goes for meditation, yoga, running, and any skill or habit.

    Make the daily practice easy.
